I want to learn how read faster .I read some advices regarding this topic. Even though we are still learning English, I think that this information will be useful for everybody. Today we read a long essay . I thing that these advices help me to read and retain information more easy than before. I want to share these advices with everybody.
1. Use always a pen,like underlinig a line. When you keep the pen moving, your eyes will learn to move faster along with the pen, and so your field of vision will expand.
2. You must be quiet as you are reading. You must avoid hum or read with a louder noise.
3. When use the computer you must keep the background dark and the words white. Also, you must use the cursor like underlining the lines.
4. The columns on the newspaper are narrow. when you are reading you waste more time jumping from line to line. You must use a pen to trace a zigzag from the end of one line to the biginning of the next, so you will pull your gaze back to the left much faster.
With all these rules you might improve your read and become a good reader.Today I felt than I could retain more information . I will continue reading because everything that you want to learn come with practice.

Claudia, Thanks for sharing this advice. It all makes sense. A number of the students in the class read slowly. I found that out today. You should be happy, though, that you eventually found most of the right answers. That's more important than reading quickly. Remember, on the placement test, you have as much time as you want to do the reading. You should, though, keep practicing to improve your speed while maintaining your comprehension.
